Swans go to Freo

Well it was the first match of the season for the Swans, and we were on our way down to Fremantle Oval to watch it. Here's Sarah And Harrison all rugged up for our first night match, which was against the South Fremantle Bulldogs.

As we hit Fremantle we noticed a Ocean liner parked in the port, so we did a quick detour to have a little gander.... isn't it a friggin' ripper hay!

Then before we knew it we were at the famous Fremantle Oval gates, and ready for a beaut match against the side they reckon is gonna be in this years final. But because we were late to the ground (we missed the first quarter) the fella on the gate let us in without paying for yours truly, you little beauty a win already..... could be a good sign.

Here's the little Nevilles during the second quarter where the Swans were down by two points, but still playing a ripper match.

We sat in the stands for the third quarter as it started to rain, bugger but we did hit the lead by four points going into the final quarter. GO THE SWANS!

Bugger we lost in the last three mintues as the Bulldogs kicked the last two goals, the final score was
South Fremantle 15 14 104
Swan Districts.... 13 9 87

but it was a beaut time the kiddies always love a night match. I don't know if it's the footy atmosphere, the swans long tradition or the hotdogs that keeps the kiddies comming out to the matches. But each time seems to just get better..... yeah okay I know it's the hotdogs, but you just never know maybe deep down they might be a little black n' white spirit intreached inside there little souls..... Okay it's the hotdogs but you just never know hay!

Like this little black n' white swanie, missin' tooth and all!

Sculpture's by the sea '09

Well this was our third time to Sculpture by the sea at the cot', and again it was a ripper of a day out. As you know i've got a soft spot for nuts, sitting in their backyard shed making things that are different or are just out their! Somethings you understand straight away, but sometimes you scratch ya head wondering 'what planet does this bloke live on... strewth'. And that's what makes this event on the calender a YOU BEAUT MUST SEE.... okay the sheilahs in their bikini's help too, but still there's also the sculptures mate!

Okay our first sculpture of the day was this bath tub plug, which goes by the name 'Unplugged'. Okay we know what this one is, but why someone would buy this for $28,000 is still a wonder.

And this one was everyones favourite back when we used them in school.... before the pen took over. This is called 'Line in the sand' and is one of the cheapest ones here at a price tag of $6,500.

Next one we had a gander at was 'Development' which I like to call Bike, this was made out of recycled steel and is priced at $15,000. Giving the artist a plug his name is Daniel Clemmett, and he is from New South Wales.... say no more! na this one is one of me fav's, but somehow I don't think it would fit in the backyard.

This one is 'Hollow promise - Cottesloe' now i'm not sure about the name, but now this is beaut! it's just something about steel .... and something big! Yeah okay it's a friggin' old sea container but still it's ART! ha,ha yeah right! You know I reckon I stuffed up getting rid of old FORDIE, fairdinkum I should of snicked over hear during the night and as long as the security guards didn't catch me. Drove her straight into the sand and threw a card on it calling it 'Cattletruck', and not only do I get rid of her but I could of gotten about $15,000 Bugger!

And here is the mob and yours truly in frount of 'Runway deep six', what a scruffy mob hay!

Here's a beauty hay called 'Balancing the books' and is going for the runaway price of $28,000, pretty cool hay.

Here's one we all should know.... called 'Lifesavers' and is made out of lifesavers .... na it's made out of fiberglass mate.

Then we came upon this galvanized steel thingie by Francine Riches from Western Australia called 'Alive my Sea', now this is a ripper but a bit pricey at $18,000 each, strewth I wouldn't spend that on a friggin' car.

Then we came to my fav of the event 'Antipodean recuits' which is just a bunch of emus.... so why don't they call it 'A bunch of emus'.... because it's Art silly! And it must be art because in the real world a rubber emu doesn't cost ya $7,000 let alone a bunch of them at $35,000!

And the final sculpture here is called 'Cattletruck' and at $15,000 it's practicable a steel Whatyareckonmate!

But the main reason the kiddies love to come to this show is the chance to get WET!

Harry n' Oscar the Beachcombers

Well it was a hot arvo so why not grab some of the kiddies and head to the sea, it was time to take the two twins somewhere and leave the two bigger kiddies at home with the old girl. So we jumped into the commodore and headed for the beach, today we made our way to .... Beach which is just up from Hilary's.

There's a fair few cliffs along this stretch of beach as you can see, but it made it a lot better trying to go from one beach to another. Oscar thought he might just wait for the old man to catch up...

And here are the two little shark biscuits!

See what Harrison found on his beachcomb, that's right a fairdinkum ridgie didge sandgroper starfish! and didn't it make his day, Oscar wouldn't come anywhere near that thing!

Then it was time for another little beach hop through the rocky cliffs to the next little cove, fairdinkum it was a real beaut time and they loved it.

But all good things come to an end, and as we came up the walkway we came across a big set of swings under cover. So it was the icing on the cake for the kiddies, and it gave them just that little bit more time at the beach.
